Old Fashioned

~ Our Way ~

Inspired by countless variations we tried, visits to cocktail bars, and good times with friends.

  • Demerara Sugar, rough cut cube*

  • two dashes of bitters**

  • 2 oz bourbon***

  • garnish with an orange peel lightly rimmed around the glass

Grab your favorite old fashioned glass. Throw in your sugar cube with a spoonful of water and your bitters of choice. Muddle the sugar until dissolved. Add your bourbon and give a quick stir. Place a large ice cube into the glass, and garnish with an orange peel.

*preferred: Roland Foods Demerara Rough Cut Brown Sugar Cubes, Sugar in the Raw.

** Angostura is the classic, and used frequently. However, orange bitters work well (Reagan) and cranberry when the holidays roll around is a must.

*** Old Forrester 1910 or 1920 is our favorite, but any of your favorite bourbons will work. Rye is also an option if you want a little more bite.
